Take Me Out to the Ball Game

What a perfect weekend!

Beautiful weather, one ball game, a wedding, 2 festivals and  the safe return of a Papa & a Nana...

Life is good. Very very good!

wait... did I say ball game?  Well, almost ballgame.

I got off early on Friday and had plans to just pup around,  maybe do a little shopping or go to the park with the babe.  The main idea was to get out of the house to let Mr. Daddy get some homework done.
After I got home and dressed the boy in his 1st official Cubbie T-shirt, a light went on in Daddy's head.

Let's take the boy to his 1st Spring Training game!!

What a FABulous idea!!

current time:  11:00  game starts:  1:05  travel time:  20 mins
Easy Peasy.

little side note for those non-baseballers:  This is Cubs Spring Training.  Spring Training in the valley is a huge deal.  People flock here from all over for these games, invading our streets, restaurants and highways.  We have 3 stadiums with in 10 minutes of our house.
again... this is the Cubs.  For all you Cub haters... a training stadium that holds 13THOUSAND people rarely does not sell out.
It's not about winning or losing... it's about supporting THEE Greatest Baseball team in history.

So... by the time we got SBR ready & loaded up, drove to the stadium, parked in the farthest (no joke, THEE FARTHEST) spot possible, walked to the box office, it was 1:15.
Yep... game. sold. out.
Well, sold out of seats at the price I was willing to pay for a pretend game.

Sorry, Kid.  This is just the first of many disappointments you'll experience as a Cub fan.

 Hohokam Stadium
eyes of wonderment

LIfe as a Cub fan.
We really do have the best time.

Next time, kiddo- I promise, Peanuts AND Crackerjacks!
