My baby turned ONE on Friday.
How old is your beautiful boy? He's One.
My Son is One.
It's been over one year since I was pregnant.
I have a One Year Old.
No matter how you say it, those words do not roll nicely off my tongue. Picture a big rock rolling and tumbling and crashing down a mountain side and landing smack into the side of a car... Me being the car.
It's horrible, unfair.
I peeked into his crib this a.m. and there was a little ToDdLeR in his place. Un.Fair.

So how did we celebrate this day of birth?
Friday we went to our favorite southwest outdoor party place: Greasewood Flat's. Joining us was Grammy, Grandpa, Poppee, Unco Jason & Aunt Lori. It was perfect fun, fantastic burgers, great live music, including a Happy Birthday, Baby.
I cried.
On Saturday we held the Mother of all First Birthday parties. The guest list ran away from me, stuck to that big rock, picking up people as it tumbled down the mountain. I am my own worst enemy when it comes to creating my own stress.
We ended up with about 40 people, including adults and children.
Mr. Husband provided the most amazing spread Ev-Ah! We served- smoked brisket, pork shoulder, spare ribs and deep fried a 'free-range organic' chicken (for the vegetarians, of course).
We had homemade potato salad, cole slaw, pasta salad, carrot salad (Midwest represent, what?!) and for the Mexican flare of AZ- homemade salsa.
It was all so Deee-Lish!
Cake & Ice Cream to follow was not to disappoint.
For breakfast the following day, either.
The weather was not too hot, SBR was in a great mood, there was just a bit o' drama, and a cup full of stress. But all in all it was a great birthday party.
Drunk on sugar
Spoiled baby
Well wishes for the birthday boy!
Happy 1st Birthday our Sweet Sweet Baby R!
We Love you to the Moon and Back!

Looks like SBR had a great party. He really looks like a toddler. That big boulder gets going and never stops.
Happy Birthday!!
And to his Mother:
Just wait, next he will be two....
and then, he will be nine.
